Cisco Catalyst 2960-X Series End-of-Life & EOSL Dates
The Catalyst 2960-X is a fixed-configuration Gigabit access switch for campus and branch closets, in 24- and 48-port models with line-rate forwarding, a PoE+ budget up to 740W with Perpetual PoE, and uplinks of four 1G SFP or two 10G SFP+ ports. FlexStack-Plus stacks up to eight switches at 80 Gbps, and FlexStack-Extended stretches a stack across fiber to out-of-closet members.
The 2960-XR variant adds routed access with an IP Lite image carrying static routing, RIP and OSPF, and swaps the fixed power supply for field-replaceable dual supplies. Management runs from CLI and web UI to Bluetooth console access, Cisco Prime and DNA Center.
Fixed Layer 2/Layer 3 access switch. Still supported until late 2027, though software maintenance stopped in 2023. Cisco names the Catalyst 9200L as the successor.
