Cambium ePMP 2000 and ePMP 1000 end of life: replacement options and prices
Cambium's support for the ePMP 2000 access point ended in October 2025 for some part numbers and September 2026 for the main group. Most ePMP 1000 radios are already past support, and the last ePMP 1000 and Force 200 part numbers follow in December 2026. Cambium names the ePMP 4500 as the access point replacement and the Force 300-25 for subscriber modules. The catch is compatibility: on Cambium's own product page, the 4500 serves Force 300 and newer subscriber modules, not the older ones.
Cambium is in administration
Cambium Networks Limited, the group's main UK trading company, entered administration on September 14, 2026 (company statement). On September 22 the administrators sold the PMP 450, PTP and cnWave lines to Airspan. ePMP is not in that sale. The September 23 update says the administrators are "actively progressing several potential going-concern transactions for the remaining business units", and that cnMaestro Cloud is extended "through at least October 2026".
For this guide that means:
- Buying an ePMP 4500 now is a bet on an ePMP buyer being found. Its firmware, Cambium Care and cnMaestro support depend on who ends up owning the line. Neither statement says.
- Do not depend on cnMaestro Cloud alone. The only commitment published is "through at least October 2026". Keep local access to every radio and an exported configuration.
- Distributors may sell existing stock. The September 16 statement says distributors "may sell existing finished goods inventory at their discretion".

What end of support means under Cambium's policy
For fixed wireless products, Cambium's lifecycle policy sets these milestones after End of Sale: end of software development (maintenance patches and bug fixes) at 3 years, with critical bugs and security exposures fixed beyond that "at Cambium discretion"; the last Cambium Care renewal at 3 years; the end of Cambium management system (cnMaestro) support at 4 years; and End of Support at 4 years, after which Cambium no longer provides "technical, software, and hardware support services" and the product "becomes unavailable (obsolete)".
So an ePMP 2000 past its date keeps passing traffic, but gets no more firmware, may drop out of cnMaestro, and has no replacement path through Cambium.
What the ePMP 2000 is
- A 5 GHz GPS-synchronised point-to-multipoint access point, the successor to the ePMP 1000 access point.
- 5, 10, 20 and 40 MHz channels; Cambium's brochure quotes "200+ Mbps of real-world achievable throughput" and up to 120 active subscribers per access point, with range up to 64 km.
- Intelligent Filtering for adjacent-channel interference (Cambium: up to 20% more uplink throughput than ePMP 1000) and Smart Beamforming with the optional Smart Antenna.

The compatibility problem
An ePMP sector is one access point and many subscriber modules (SMs) on customer roofs. Replacing the access point is one climb; replacing the SMs is one visit per customer. Before choosing a replacement, count the SMs by model.
- ePMP 4500: Cambium's page says it interoperates "with Force 400 Subscriber Modules (SM) and support[s] backward compatibility to Force 300 SMs", and with Force 4500 SMs. It does not name the ePMP 1000, Force 180, Force 190 or Force 200.
- ePMP 3000 FSR: Cambium's page says it interoperates with Force 300 SMs and "support[s] backward compatibility", without naming models. Cambium staff's 2019 compatibility rules state that the original ePMP 3000 serves ePMP 1000, Force 180, 190, 200 and 300 SMs in backward-compatibility mode. Confirm with Cambium that the FSR variant does the same before planning around it.
The practical consequence: moving straight to the 4500 means replacing every Force 200 and ePMP 1000 SM in the sector at the same time, unless Cambium confirms otherwise for your firmware.
Options
| Your situation | Practical path |
|---|---|
| Sector already mostly Force 300 SMs | Swap the access point for an ePMP 4500 or 4500L and replace the remaining legacy SMs, accepting that ePMP's owner is undecided (see above) |
| Sector mostly Force 200 or ePMP 1000 SMs | Plan an SM replacement programme with the access point swap, or confirm legacy SM support on the ePMP 3000 FSR with Cambium first |
| Rebuilding the network on another platform | Ubiquiti LTU (base station plus LTU clients); every SM is replaced, since the platforms do not interoperate |
| Need time | Keep spare ePMP 2000 radios; there is no Cambium hardware support after End of Support |
Avoid as a replacement: the ePMP 3000 (end of sale March 2026) and ePMP 3000L (end of sale 2025 and 2026). The FSR variants are the current ones.

| Item | Seller | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| ePMP 4500 5 GHz 8x8 access point, FCC (C058940A122A) | Baltic Networks | USD 2,499.00 | "High Stock" |
| ePMP 4500L 5 GHz access point (C058940A165D) | Streakwave | USD 699.00 | Out of stock at time of check |
| Force 300 connectorized subscriber module, FCC (C058910C122A) | Baltic Networks | USD 320.07 | "High Stock" |
| Ubiquiti LTU Rocket base station | Ubiquiti store | USD 399.00 | Works with LTU clients only |
| ePMP 2000 access point, spare | eBay US, Buy It Now | USD 145.00 and 683.00 (2 listings) | Both listed as new; no Cambium support either way |
Budget note: at these prices the access point is the small part of a sector migration. A sector of 40 legacy SMs replaced with Force 300 units at USD 320.07 each is about USD 12,800 in radios before installation, against USD 2,499 for the 4500 itself.
Migration checklist
- Count SMs per sector by model (Force 200, Force 180 and 190, ePMP 1000, Force 300) from cnMaestro or the AP's subscriber list.
- Sectors that are mostly Force 300 are the cheap ones to move first.
- Keep GPS synchronisation and frequency planning consistent across mixed old and new sectors during the transition, as ePMP's frequency reuse depends on it.
- Third-party maintenance is not a meaningful option here: the operator's own spares are the hardware cover, and firmware comes only from Cambium.
Questions
Is Cambium still in business?
Cambium Networks Limited (UK) entered administration on September 14, 2026. Its PMP 450, PTP and cnWave lines were sold to Airspan on September 22. ePMP was not part of that sale, and the administrators were still seeking buyers for the remaining units as of their September 23 update.
Is the Cambium ePMP 2000 end of life?
Yes. Cambium's lifecycle page lists ePMP 2000 part numbers with End of Support dates from March 2023 to September 2026, all now passed.
What replaces the ePMP 2000?
Cambium names the ePMP 4500 as the replacement access point. Its product page lists Force 300, Force 400 and Force 4500 subscriber modules as compatible.
Will an ePMP 4500 work with Force 200 subscriber modules?
Cambium's ePMP 4500 page names Force 300 and newer subscriber modules and does not list the Force 200, so plan to replace Force 200 units or confirm with Cambium for your firmware.
When does Force 200 support end?
The last Force 200 part numbers reach End of Support in December 2026; two earlier part numbers ended in October 2025. Cambium names the Force 300-25 as the replacement.
